The Collector for the IRA
The Collector for the IRA
The stories in this work span a period of over one hundred years. Originally published as One Stop Before the Dump, some of these stories have been taken from Mark Chamberlain’s historical fiction writing, some from his recent works of fiction and some have been pulled from old boxes on yellowing paper to be published for the first time.
Not long before he died Preston Dixon agreed to record some of his stories which have been transcribed here.
These stories compass a wide range of themes, both tragic and humorous, dealing mostly with New Zealand subjects and characters and the ordinary man struggling with adversity.
